Scribe Post, Oct. 26/11
Today in science we talked about what we are gonna do to try get the stuff for being, mimes on strike. Then he did a homework check on what we did yesterday, then we corrected the assignment. After that we started watching a video about molecules. We then have to stay in for 2 mins at break (certain people wouldn't stop talking)REMEMBER YOUR $2 FOR MOGA IT IS DUE FOR FRIDAY!!!

Lead-Pb,82
plumbian is the abbreviation for Pb witch is the latin word for soft metals
it was thought to be one of the oldest metals in achamy.
is a chemical element with symbol Rf and atomic number 104, named in honor of New Zealand physicist Ernest Rutherford. It is a synthetic element (an element that can be created in a laboratory but is not found in nature) and radioactive; the most stable known isotope, 267Rf, has a half-life of approximately 1.3 hours.

Americium (Am 95 are it's symbol on periodic table and it's atomic number) ( a radioactive metal found in nuclear reactors) is named after the country it was found in.
Md
mendelvium is the 101 element in the periodic table. Its abrevation is Md. It was first identified by Albert Ghiorso, Bernard Harvey, Gregory Choppin, Stanley Thompson, and Glenn Seaborg in 1955 at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California.
ES-Einsteinium
It was named after Aberta Einstein.
It was named after Aberta Einstein.
Nobelium is called (No) because In 1994, and subsequently in 1997, the IUPAC ratified the name nobelium (No) for the element on the basis that it had become entrenched in the literature over the course of 30 years and that Alfred Nobel should be commemorated in this fashion.
Sodium is the 11th element in the periodic table, the abbreviation for sodium is Na because the Latin word for sodium is natrium.
Antimony's checical symbol is Sb becasue it is made out of a lustrous grey metalloid, it is found in nature mainly as the sulfide mineral stibnite (Sb2S3) the symbol is Sb because sulfide mineral is Sb2
silver is called Ag because, Ag is an abbreviation of Argentum - the Latin word for silver.
Latin cuprum: from the isle of Cyprus, which is famed for its copper mines. Copper has been known since prehistoric time. It has been mined for more than 5000 years. The metal and its alloys have been used for thousands of years. In the Roman era, copper was principally mined on Cyprus, hence the origin of the name of the metal as сyprium (metal of Cyprus), later shortened to сuprum.
`K` is the symbol for Potassium because, Neo-Latin Kalium. It's atomic number is 19.

Shapes Assignment
The object we chose is a rectangular prism.
The formula for surface area is- 2(d(h+w)+hw) d- depth
h-height
The formula for volume is- dhw w-width
http://www.csgnetwork.com/surfareacalc.html - is a calculator for surface area
http://www.csgnetwork.com/volumecalc.html - is a calculator for volume
These calculators are for all types of 3d shapes

This is a rectangular prism, the formula for calculating surface area is:
SA=2ab + 2bc + 2ac or SA=2(lw + lh + wh)
http://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/geometry-solids/rectangularprism.php and there is a link to the calculator that can be used for finding the surface area of a rectangular prism.
we got a a four-sided pyramid.
the surface area is A = 2bs + b2(the 2 is squared)

cylinder
surface area formula: 2pir^2+2pirh
volume: v=pir^2h
this calculator link helps you find the surface area and volume of a cylinder.

This is a picture of the floor in Mr. Maksymchuks room and this would be heterogeneous because the floor textures are all different.
This is a picture of a wooden door here in Mr. Maksymchuks class this would be heterogeneous because the grains are all different.
Recently we have been assigned to post pictures that are either homogeneous or/are heterogeneous. So, this is mine.
Above is a picture of a drum kit, the drum kit is heterogeneous because if you take the drum set apart it the pieces would all be different.
This mannequin is heterogeneous because the layers of the hair is uneven.
Above is a picture of a drum kit, the drum kit is heterogeneous because if you take the drum set apart it the pieces would all be different.
This paintbrush is heterogeneous because the paint bristles are uneven and the paint splatters are uneven also.
This is a water pump and a bunch of stuff under it this would also be heterogeneous because all of all of the items are different and have different pieces to them.
This is my drawing of a flower from art class, this is heterogeneous because the shading is all different.
